The photos of this particular painting are definitely different than my others. My friend Marc Ross who lets me take photos at his studio, gave me an idea for photographing this painting on one of his old doors to let a good contrast come through in the photos to give onlookers a better chance to see the painting, since it's a white on white rope painting. It would have been more difficult for online viewing to take place. I ended up really enjoying the background in the photos, plus it gives the art an edge to it. It really shows off the paintings edges and lines too.

I began making my TESTERS in this new manner through a need to try something different in my work. As most of you know, I am a huge Sam Francis fan and especially of his EDGE Paintings. My interest in the interior of a painting has been a primary importance of the last year, I've made quite a bunch of new work that celebrates this newfound embrace of the interior. This particular painting was the first to be made with the focus solely on painting the interior. In the photos below you can really see the beautiful chaos that as birthed before another was conceived. I'm in the process of making videos to share the full beauty of these works of art. That will come soon.

This one in particular was based off a vision I had of a Matisse painting, and how he loved to use very pastel colors.
All of these paintings are now available on my personal Saatchi Art profile.
