Acrylic on Acrylic Yarn and Poly Rope on Painted Wood Chassis
48 X 36 IN
Every now and again I like to work with Green. With this one in particular I chose a very transparent green for the chassis color which almost has a jade feel to it. Using black yarn it really makes the chassis color pop through the spaces created by the wrapping of the yarn. After the yarn was down, I began wrapping with a blue and a black poly rope, also called paracord. The almost fluorescent green really sets off the blue texture which was the final color added. Once on the gallery wall the painting really has tremendous visual depth, no illusion here. I have chosen to work primarily from now on with a 1.5 IN deep chassis wood which allows the interior bracing to really sit front and center to your eye and you don't have to go searching for it within the interior of the painting. I'll most likely switch up to 2 IN wood in the future to achieve even more depth into the interior. I'm trying to allow light to really get deep into the interior and have realized that a deeper chassis would do as I need.
Gotta get those details in here!
