Journey from white painting to white painting. Funny how at the beginning of 2019 I was making this one and now a year later I am working on a larger white painting. That one is 72 X 52 IN which is a favorite size of mine. I have always found the 60IN wide to be just too much for that typical size. I found the 52" size has more in common with my favorite size chassis of 48 X 36IN. Which in turn makes the painting a bit more tall and just looks better to my eye.

This painting in particular has garnered many wonderful compliments. It was by far one of the most viewed in my recent Solo Exhibition in Dayton curated by Jeffrey Cortland Jones at his and Heather Jones' DIVISIBLE Gallery. It is a continuation of the large Blue painting that was in my first Solo Exhibition in NYC at 60 Greene St (REGINATO STUDIO). Using thicker ropes and later combining them with the acrylic yarn which brings new levels of texture into my work. You can see it in the details. Click on the image to see it larger. This is How the Wind Shifts

It's been almost a year since I have updated this website. Here's the new one!

I got a message in a late August evening from my Colleague and Friend Jeffrey Cortland Jones, cool thing is he was asking me if I wanted to be in a show to open the season at his Curatorial project he's been working on for years in Dayton Ohio called DIVISIBLE.

Naturally I accepted and began wondering which works were going to be included. I knew I wanted the three new mid-large sized paintings I recently finished this year, along with some smaller works I found a great balance of paintings that I felt would make a strong showing to the public.

Friday I sat forth in the car with the two largest 48X36" before the back seat and the rest fit just perfect in the trunk. Everytime I set forth in a car with an exhibition full of artwork I am reminded of the stories I would hear from other painters before me, where they painted a certain scale simply out of necessity to how to move and store them. I never wanted to be one of those painters. I used to really like it the best when I could use my Fathers truck, since you could easily fit a 6foot by 5 foot painting in the bed, actually you could fit more like 5 of that size if they aren't super textural. Been wanting to get a truck again for a long time.

Once the paintings were moved into the gallery, Jeffrey sat about hanging the show and did so within ten minutes, the guy knows how to hang an exhibition and he doesn't mess around with unneeded things. We changed one painting wall for another since the Green and Blue (07-04-2019) painting was originally on the wall of the red paintings.

The evening was tremendous. Loads of people to talk with all evening. Lots of great questions and happy faces. Was very nice to meet you and laugh with you.

TENSION: A Single Painting Exhibition

Thanks to Jeffrey Cortland Jones for curating this exhibition in his space CORRIDOR in Dayton Ohio.

The opening was on Friday. I drove out with a good friend and we had a wonderful time talking with people and seeing the rest of the art that was going on in the building.

As always. The documentarian that I am, I had to film the painting in the exhibition.

I chose one painting for this exhibition, mostly because of space considerations. I know I could have put 4 or more in there, but I wanted to give the viewer one representation of my work to focus on. I know artists when they get exhibitions they tend to want to cram in all their newest work. I made sure with this exhibition to do neither of those. This painting is...

Dayton and Heidelberg

September began with a bang for me. Jeffrey Cortland Jones curated a wonderful groundbreaking exhibition called Fiction (With only Daylight Between Us), the exhibition is only part of a grand scale traveling exhibition. It's already been announced to be heading to Heidelberg, Germany, opening October 15 at boecker contemporary.

The show is running currently at Corridor (divisible) in Dayton, OH from September 2 – 22.

The image below is from the website Curating Contemporary, run by Brian Edmonds. I would like to send a special Thank You for taking the time to put the exhibition online and on your website. It's a very well put together site I must add.

Those who know me, know that I am not a well traveled artist, not yet at least. So to me, this is a very big thing for me and my future. I have worked a lot to get to this point and I am enjoying it the best I can. I know I deserved it and am grateful for the opportunity. To be having my first group show in another country is something quite big in my book, I count no opportunity as smaller than the others, because each one helps me to reach another plateau that can be used to better my life, and the lives of those around me.

NOW. It's onto October when I will be having my first one person exhibition of 2016 also at Corridor, curated once more by Jeffrey Cortland Jones, titled TENSION. Running the duration of October. Below is the painting included. It's a solo painting for a solo exhibition.
