Acrylic on Nylon on Painted Wood Chassis
This is one of the beginning of my ideas of bringing my actual past into remembrance through abstracted memories of past photos from my life. You can see more of this idea at the bottom of the post. This painting like a couple others of today is based on ideas from life and my past. I did one painting that had remembrances of the Icelandic Volcano, and this one is remembrances from a photo my Mother took of Me and my Grandma around 81-83. I feel in making paintings that have connections to my past helps in the memory of these events. Some that didn't seem significant as they happened, but later really came forth in my memories and needed to be remembered in new (and mysterious to others) ways. Now seeing this I forever remember as much as my imagination remembers of that day and how I've always been a goofy kid who loved to make people smile.
Enjoy. Right click and zoom in.
And the photo that began the memories that turned into painting ideas. This is a pic of Me and my Grandma back around 81-83 ish. Taken by Sandra Collins (MOM).
